Today we had a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms and tomorrow we will see more rain.

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) –

Today, I hope you had a chance to get outside and celebrate Independence day with loved ones. Tonight if you have plans for a cook out or shooting off fireworks, right now we are seeing temperatures in the lower 80′s. By 8 Pm we will see the upper 70′s and stay in the upper 70′s by 10 PM. We do have a 20% chance of rain this evening but these will be more isolated showers so you should have a chance to shoot off fireworks!

The firework forecast sponsored by Tate’s Fireworks predicts we will remain mostly dry, with the chance of an isolated shower and temperatures will be in the upper to mid 70′s. Using the EMEPA live radar we can see we have a few showers in the area, but these should mostly be moving out by 10 PM.

By 11 PM tonight we will be in the mid to upper 70′s with a slight chance of a light shower. These showers will pop up quickly and go away quickly as well. Overnight we will see dry conditions and temperatures in the lower 70′s. By noon, the isolated showers come back in the forecast. We will see temperatures in the upper 80′s and lower 90′s but it will feel more like the upper 90′s due to the humidity. Through the afternoon more showers could start up and we will be in the lower 90′s. By the time you are going to bed tomorrow night we will be in the mid to upper 70′s with a slight chance of showers.

Tomorrow will be very similar to today with just a few more showers in the forecast. As you are planning your day tomorrow for church in the morning and afternoon activities we will see the mid 70′s by morning with a few clouds in the sky. By noon we will be warming to the upper 80′s and we could start to see a few splash and dash showers. By 4 PM showers will be more widespread and we will be in the lower 90′s, but again it will feel more like the upper 90′s. Today we reached the lower 90′s which is normal for this time of year, and the afternoon showers are average as well.

Tomorrow we are seeing a 60% chance of showers starting at noon and they will continue through the evening. Monday through Wednesday we will see higher amounts of heavy rain and it will last most of the day. By the weekend however, we will see partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid 90′s.
