PARKLAND, FL- The Parkland Dash is going the Virtual this year. The popular road race will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020, and registration opens this Friday, August 14 at 8 a.m.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s race has some unique requirements, as runners will be running on their own in accordance with social disancing mandates.
The City of Parkland website shares the following information:
“Parkland Dash is back! But this time–you choose your route! In keeping with social distancing requirements, we are excited to offer the Parkland Dash virtually this year. While we are not able to be together “physically” this year, all runners will be able to view live results online throughout the race day as participants submit their times.
On Saturday, October 18th, just run and track your 5K (3.1 miles) or 5 Miles while using your Race Joy App. Instructions for submitting times can be found on the registration page. The deadline to submit your time is 3:00 PM EST on Sunday, October 18th. Once the countdown clock reaches zero, no more times will be accepted and the race will be finalized.”
This year’s race will benefit Canine Assisted Therapy, an organization that provides ongoing support to Parkland residents.
