2020 GMC Acadia Black Accent Package Adds An Extra Dash Of Class

First introduced for the 2007 model year, the GMC Acadia hit its second generation for the 2017 model year. Later, the 2020 GMC Acadia ushered in a mid-cycle refresh consisting of new exterior styling and the addition of an available turbo four-cylinder engine and 9-speed automatic transmission. Get a complete list of changes on our intel page. Now, among the various styling options for the 2020 Acadia is the Black Accent package, which adds an extra dash of class to the midsize crossover utility vehicle (CUV).

The 2020 GMC Acadia Black Accent Package is tagged with RPO code PDB, and is offered as an LPO-level package, which means it is produced by General Motors, and can be ordered with the vehicle and installed by the dealer.

The 2020 GMC Acadia Black Accent Package includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Black finish grille (SJ9)
  • Black rear license plate applique (RXX)

This package is only offered on SLE and SLT trim levels, and is not available in conjunction with the Bright Accent Package (PDI).

Pricing for the 2020 GMC Acadia Black Accent Package is set at $745.

Notably, the 2020 GMC Acadia Black Accent Package is not a full black-out treatment like the Elevation Edition offered for the 2021  Acadia, which, as we covered previously, includes a black grille, black exterior accents, black wheels, and black roof rails.

Notably, the GMC badge remains red with the 2020 GMC Acadia Black Accent package. However, for those customers that want to add further black bits to their Acadia in conjunction with this package, GMC does offer a black GMC badge for a more “complete” look. Pricing for the black GMC badge is set at $120, and is tagged with RPO code SFZ.

As a reminder, the 2020 GMC Acadia offers three engine options, including the atmospheric 2.5L I4 LCV, the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY, and the atmospheric 3.6L V6 LGX, all of which connect to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission. Both FWD and AWD are offered. Under the skin is GM’s C1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee
