Dash-cam appeal after man (96) and woman (94) taken to hospital

Police have appealed for information after a serious crash on the A9 left a 96-year-old man and a 94-year-old woman in hospital.

The collision just south of Aviemore happened around 3.55pm yesterday.

It involved three vehicles – a black Volkswagen Transporter, a black Citroen DS3 and a blue Ford Fiesta.

Emergency services attended the scene near the junction for the B9152 on the A9.

The elderly couple, who were in the Ford Fiesta, were taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The occupants of the VW Transporter and the Citroen DS3 were uninjured.



Sergeant Alisdair Mackay said: “Enquiries into this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, who has not already spoken to police to contact us.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen any of the vehicles prior to the crash and has dash-cam footage to please check and come forward with anything which may be relevant.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2617 of August 16.
